MARU MARUI
0,00 €
MARU is the name of a series of abstract mainly circular assemblage. Created with a preference for curved lines and organic shapes. Perhaps a quote from Antoni Gaudí enlightens this preference: "The straight line belongs to man, the curved line belongs to God." Henry Matisse said: "A curve is straight line that has been yield to an external will, to something that is stronger then itself."
This piece MARU MARUI is a construction of circular shapes assembled with re-used objects of various heights deliberately made uneven so the light and shadow dance remains dynamic, depending on the time of day or when a spotlight is aimed at the art work. MARU meaning: CIRCLE, WHOLE, FULL, COMPLETE and MARUI translates here as: CURVED, SMOOTH, HARMONIOUS, CALM, PEACEFUL.
Due to the layering & destroying technique the shapes appear weathered with character, the structure on the surface is created by adding ground coffee, salt and cinnamon mixed with paint.
Treasured backside with gold structure paint and a handcrafted gold-clay Ordaz atelier logo label.
